A unique design for a run-down area.

Fourthspace achieved a well regarded planning consent to demolish a disused corner pub in Newham and to replace it with a 4 storey residential apartment block made up of 9 two bedroom flats and 3 one bedroom flats. The design is bold and innovative, optimising the development potential of the site and sitting comfortably within its urban environment. Massing is carefully considered to reflect the scale of the housing within the vicinity.

The building is split in two by an external core allowing for increased common amenity space and areas for planting, while also pulling additional light into the proposal. Landscaped areas and private amenity areas consist of gardens, decking and timber privacy screens. Materials have been chosen to make the new development standout within the existing streetscape, using sustainably sourced timber, London Stock brick, glass, steel and render.
